Before joining Shelby Systems in 2007, Ron served as a church administrator for 30 years. He was the Pastor for Administration at the Germantown Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee, where he served for the last 24 years of his church ministry. He continues to serve as a church administration consultant, conference speaker, and writer. His pre-ministry business background includes accounting and auditing for various companies. During his tenure at Germantown Baptist Church the church doubled in size three times reaching an average weekend attendance of 5,500. In 1991 he co-founded Shared Church Services Inc, a business that assists churches attain maximum stewardship of their resources and funds through discounted pricing, services, and agreements. Shared Church Services has grown to an organization of over 1,400 churches and institutions. He was CCA certified by the NACBA in 1990.
Ron is the author of Thy Kingdom Clean, a popular NACBA Press resource for over 15 years. In 2002 he founded the popular website, www.churchadminpro.com, a website for church administration resources, utilized nationwide by volunteers and professionals.

2006 Southern Baptist Taylor Daniel Award as an Outstanding Business Leader among Baptist churches, institutions, agencies, conventions, and foundations

2008 Induction into the Southern Baptist Church Business Administration Association Hall of Honor for service to the profession, the association, the denomination, and the Great Commission.
He has been a member of the NACBA since 1986, CCA certified in 1990, and has served as the president of the Southern Baptist Church Business Administration Association and is certified by that organization as a CCBA. He has traveled worldwide as a leader and participant in Southern Baptist mission projects.
Ron is married to Renee (OBU, 1977). They have two grown daughters and one granddaughter.
